As a freshman at Michigan, Peoples-Jones had 27 catches for 413 yards and two touchdowns. He had a breakout season as a sophomore, catching 49 passes for 637 yards and seven touchdowns. He was named the Big Ten Receiver of the Year.

As a junior, Peoples-Jones had 36 catches for 438 yards and six touchdowns. He decided to forgo his senior season and declare for the NFL Draft.

People-Jones is 6-foot-2 and 212 pounds. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.48 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine. He also had a vertical jump of 39.5 inches and a broad jump of 10 feet, 11 inches.
